Educational Development in the Dravidian Model and Current Issues In Education.

Education is much needed for a society to develop culturally, economically and politically. Leaders from the Justice Party, Periyar, Anna and the Dravidian Movement in general, have contributed to the model of Education during their respective periods to develop Wholesome Education in Tamil Nadu. That has progressively evolved as Dravidian Model as of today. Many schemes were introduced under this model for the sake of students and their needs.

Tamil Nadu tops in educational development in the areas of: Access to Education, Infrastructure and other Developmental Schemes, yet lacks in the measurement of the overall learning outcome. This needs to be discussed and addressed to solve the current problems in the educational system. When the overall learning outcome is measured and managed, the ultimate aim of Dravidian Model will be achieved and realized.

Mr. S.N. Anbumani

Mr. S.N. Anbumani lives in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He is 26 years young. He finished his B.Sc., Mathematics in the American College, Madurai and the Bachelor of Education (Special Education - Intellectual Disability) in C.S.I College of Education. S.N. Anbumani has written three books - two in English and one in Tamil. The Books are 1) Lively Nature, 2) Emotions of the Special Needs Children: A Discussion and 3) ஒற்றைக் கையில் என் மூக்குக்கண்ணாடி ஏந்தி...! (Tamil Poetry). He has written an article: ‘Role of the Mother Tongue in Deciding the Quality of Education’ in the Journal 'Quality in Education' published by Lulu Publications, United States of America.

His research interests include: History of Tamil language and literature, History of the Tamil Religious developments from medieval period, Language of Sangam Tamil literature and Tamil inscriptions, Teaching and learning of Tamil language and Impact of Technology in the pedagogical methods. Some of his Publications include: Tamil Language in Context: A comprehensive approach to learning Tamil and An English Dictionary of Tamil Verb (Associate Editor).
