Dravida Pozhil (Journal of Dravidian Studies – JODS) is a Quarterly, Bi-lingual, Academic Research Journal published in the field of Social Sciences with focus on Dravidian Studies.

“By the grove resides the spring, by beauty resides the life (poḻil vati vēnil, pēr eḻil vāḻkkai)” – so sings Sanga Tamil. The Tamil word ‘Pozhil or poḻil’ not only means a grove, garden or oasis. It means where the water fluxes continuously and self-sustains in a grove of flora & fauna. Similarly, in this Dravidian Oasis – Dravida Pozhil, the concepts of Dravidian culture will flux and self-sustain with continuous improvement

The Journal of Dravidian Studies (JODS) – Dravida Pozhil is a journey of education, a journey towards the people, a journey joining the scholars and the people and a journey of social justice, wherein the doors of education were made wide open to all by the Dravidian Movement.

Vision

  • Dravida Pozhil aims to promote Dravidian Studies in the domains of Rationality, Culture, Civilization, Art, History, Language and Humanities, and enable a deep Academic Research in the above faculties, and deliver the benefits of research to one and all.

Mission

  • Fine Academic Research in the domains of Dravidian Culture, Dravidian Civilization, Dravidian Social Justice, Dravidian & Tamil Studies.
  • Deliver the fruits of this research to benefit both the Dravidian Tamil general populace and the Scholars alike.
  • Integrate Dravidian thoughts and philosophies with the auspices of Global Scholars, maintaining high educational standards and global academic standards.
  • Showcase the research capabilities of the Dravidian Intelligentsia globally, and maintain a Dravidian database of research papers and thesis.

Action Plan

  • The Journal of Dravidian Studies (JODS) – Dravida Pozhil will be Quarterly, in a Multi-lingual format, as a publication from the PMIST deemed university and aggregated in Global Journal Indexes.
  • With the above-said Mission, Dravida Pozhil will collaborate with global scholars on Dravidian Academic Studies and provide research opportunities for other scholars, budding women scholars and blossoming scholars from the underprivileged communities.
  • Scientific and Data based approaches with global academic standards, will be employed in the fields of Dravidian Research & Critical Analysis and duly peer reviewed & published.
